Doctor Ratings

"Doctor Who" is continuing its inevitable takeover of America. The premiere of the sixth season of the rebooted, legendary British sci-fi franchise drew BBC America's highest-ever ratings for a telecast when it aired on Saturday. 1.3 million people tuned in to see the return of the Doctor, Amy Pond, Rory and River Song. (As you might have surmised, some HuffPost Media editors are also big "Doctor Who" fans.) That's 71,000 more than the channel's previous record--which was also a "Who" episode.Ironically, the ratings for the episode in Britain were down by 1.5 million people compared to last year's opener.
